not wide enough for macbook pros

Stay away from this product if you own a MacBook Pro as the filter is just not wide enough to cover the entire screen. In case it helps, I purchased my MBP in May 2010, and is a 13.3 inches screens model.

3M privacy filter does the job

This is a pretty decent privacy filter. I've tested it out since getting it and no one can see anything on my screen even when they're sitting right next to me. Not bad. The little plastic tabs holding the filter on to the screen are a little useless, in particular the one along the bottom of the screen. It keeps falling off and the filter shifts down. Pluses and Minuses

One the plus side, the filter works very well and also is very good at reducing glare, particularly with reflective screen surfaces. On the minus side, it darkens the screen a bit. It also works to filter the screen from yourself if you have the screen tilted a bit too far. This can be annoying when the angle shifts, e.g., when traveling. The other down side is the filter tends to fall off when you lower the screen.

Keep prying eyes away when you are working on the train

What you get: 1 screen roughly 14.1 Widescreen dimensions. (189.9mm x 303.7mm) and 8 tabs to fasten your screen to your laptop. The screen wasn't a perfect fit (wrt size) for my 14.1w acer 4810t but it fastened easily enough with the provided tabs (I only needed to use 3 so there are more than enough provided). The filter provided sufficient coverage to obscure my screen and works really well to restrict visibility to any nosey people sitting next to me on the train or plane (Yes I have to slum

Does what it says on the tin

Generally this device is fine. It arrived promptly. Fits the screen OK for size. Ideally I'd like a slightly narrower viewing angle but I think it obscures the text on the screen adequately. I keep it on the laptop screen all the time and if I inadvertently turn the laptop on it's end when packing it away the filter slides out. Could be fixed by using an additional fixing but then I wouldn't be able to remove it if needed.
