Good player at a very good price

Major problem with dvd playback. Soon to be resolved!!
This machine produces high quality images, but like Kevin who also reviewed, the player will not play 2 towers extended edition disc 1. I experienced same problem. It also refused to play some BBC Miss Marple discs. As the discs play fine on another dvd player, it is clear that there are major technical flaws with this player. You have been warned...!!!
Helpful Philips assure me that a new download available in early november will sort out the above problem in which case I would add a...

Ordering and speed of delivery were A1 - as has been everything else purchsed from Amazon.
Anyone wanting an excellent Bluray player should look no further than this Philips model. Good player - decent value
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?) Initial impressions positive - it's a good weight (some more expensive players feel very flimsy) with a classy minimalsit look to it.
Plug it in and it's a cinch to install no problems with the HDMI security "handshake" that means I can wait for a while before my Foxsat and telly try and talk to each other! (the green screen!)

Good Blu-Ray player but has a major bug.....
Played a couple of Blu-rays on it and picture quality is very good (I only have a 1080i TV but I can see the difference in image quality compared to DVD)...
However, it will not play my Two Towers Special Extended Edition DVD. This DVD plays on another DVD player so the disc is fine. I have also upgraded to latest firmware.
The machine freezes if I try and play it and I need to switch power on/off to get it to respond again. This not give me much confidence about its rel...
