The best just got better...!
My brother has had a pair of Creative Gigaworks T20's for a while now and they really are fantastic......so in true competitive brother style (!) I've trumped him and bought these bigger versions........and WOW they are fantastic! The music separation is really good and its fair to say that Creative have really done their homework when it comes to getting great sound from small packages. How these produce such deep bass from a relatively small package is a mystery - these clearly follow in the...

Simply stunning, and simply enormous!
i bought a pair of these to replace my crackly I-Trigue 2200s, and i'm just blown away by their performance. they're very easy to plug in and set up, but if you have a high desk and a CRT monitor, you could be in trouble, as the length of cable from the large transformer to the right speaker is quite short, and the transformer sends any CRT monitor into a fit of wobbles.
Sound is incredible. After the bass-less 2200s, anything would have been better, but these really are special. Sou...

Noticeably better than the unbeatable T20
The delivery man handed me the box and I nearly dropped them. They are significantly heavier than the T20's. Being the same power, I expected the transformer to be similar, but it also is heavier. The lead between the transformer itself and the speaker is too short to site the transformer under my desk, so it sits behind my monitor, in the space designed by LCD screens! The sound improves over the first hour, which is as long as I've had them. Because of prior reports I checked that all six...

WOW!
After suffering the quirks and crap of 5.1 speakers on a pc these speakers are a breath of fresh air. Personally I have found that 5.1 speakers on a pc gaming machine are a bit of overkill. Dropping down to a pair of basic stereo speaker has been a boon to me. I found that with 5.1 speakers that if a character that you are 'talking' to is directly in front of you the sound of their voice seems to disappear [spelling?]. I decided to downgrade to stereo speakers. These guys are very, very, very go...

Disappointed
Bought these as a replacement for my original Creative I-Trigue 5600's which developed a fault. From the reviews I have read, was expecting the T40's to sound at least as good as or even better than the i-trigue's. Unfortunately, this was not the case and was left feeling quite disappointed.
Good Points :- 1. Clear seperation of midrange/high tones.
Bad Points :- 1. No real deep bass. Compared to the i-trigue's which had a seperate subwoofer, the bass was fan...

bass?
I purchased these a few months back and am very happy with the mid and high range of these speakers but am somewhat mystified at the "bass" that some of the other reviews lead you to belive. Dont get me wrong - the sound is good, but these definatly need a sub to get more impact. If you are going to buy these expecting "bass" (such as in rnb/hiphop music) get a sub too.

More than just 2.0
I've used a Logitech X-530 5.1 Speaker Setup for the last two years, but as I have a shared house and mostly use them for listening to music at my desk (as opposed to something that requires the entire room to vibrate, like watching a loud movie), I decided to try a 2.0 setup.
PROS: I was initially hesitant, thinking I'd lose some of the immersion and quality that you get from 5.1, but am so glad I bought these, as they are more than capable of doing everything I could need them ...

Great upgrade for LCD TV
I bought these speakers to replace the internal speakers on my Sony 32D3000 TV, and they do the job admirably... These speakers make both my TV viewing and XBox playing so much more involved... Awesome!
Whilst I can't deny that compared to a dedicated 2.1+ setup there is a lack of bass, on merit these are an awesome upgrade to stock speakers in even decent LCD TVs...
Well recommended by me!!

Great sound, lacking a bit on bass
Having read the generally very positive reviews I took the plunge and bought these speakers to replace my cabridge soundworks 5.1 setup. The sound mid and top range is stunning, crystal clear. The speakers do lack on the base side and could do with a subwoofer jack so there is an option to boost the bass levels. Some reviews critisise the sound, bass etc. Put this into context I have a ?2000 NAD HiFi that sounds better, but for ?65 from amazon these speakers represent massive value for money. No...

Creative T40's lack quality sound
I purchased these speakers to listen to audio tracks, to determine whether or not to burn onto disk for listening on my hi-fi. Quality of the recording could not be rated due to the poor sound quality of the speakers. I must have spent several hours mucking about with the sound manager trying to get a reasonable sound, but no matter what i do the sound remains poor. The bass isnt smooth, the mid range brash and the high end tinny, overall sound represents a cheap car stereo speaker. Really ...
