Improvements all round, but still a tricky price (Actual Owner)
Fun: After pre-ordering my Playstation 3 Slim a month ago, I managed to pick it up today which was a relief. I previously owned the 80GB "fat" Playstation since December '08, but had nothing but trouble with it - three breakdowns, three refurb machines in replacement. Slim
Fun: PS3 slim installed below TV and I for one like the look of the new machine. The Slim is much smaller, the pics don't do it justice. The matt finish is different but I always thought the glossy finish of the old model was tacky and a pain to keep clean. Click buttons not a problem to me either. Some information for those considering making a pre-order
Fun: Some details about the new slim from a variety of sources on the web :)
*This Playstation 3 has a 120gb hard drive (compared to the current PS3 which has 80GB).
*This Playstation has a matt finish, and is rough to touch compared to the smooth, shiny but finger print magnet finish of the current 80gb model.
*There are no "touch buttons" , the two buttons are now physical buttons and make a click when you press them. (Eject and Power button).

The best just got better
Fun: I've been fortunate enough to get my hands on a release of the new slim PS3.
Sure, it may have lost a couple of features from my first generation model, but the positives certainly outweigh the negatives. There's little point in my comparing the stats; you can read that information in lots of other places.
An essential buy, particularly if you don't own a Blu-ray player yet.

Fun: In my opinion the PS3 was already the best value piece of home entertainment tech on sale and its just got even better with a larger hard drive, smaller size and lower price.

PS3 Slim - Console and Blu-ray Player
Fun: This version of the PS3 is identical to the original - except that it is more compact (hence looks better under my large Samsung LCD), has a larger hard drive (120GB), and is cheaper :) All good then.
Sony ensured the success of blu-ray against HD-DVD by integrating blu-ray it into the PS3. Sony won the HD format war (with all the future royalties that it brings) - but lost some console sales due to the high cost of buying an original PS3.

Correction for the info box
Fun: The controller included DOES have vaibration, and the firmware installed is 2.80, so a 3.0 update is required from September the first. However, this is an excellent console, and is well recommended, with an already great games and features line-up, with a lot more on the way, in terms of games, and hardware (like the new motion controller coming out soon).
