Do not buy unless you have another apple base-station. Waste of money.
Basically I bought this thinking that it would extend my wifi network in my house.... or create one... when I connected it to a internet enabled phone line where ever I went. After phoning up apple, soon after I bought and unboxed it, I realised this was not the case. It's very misleading the advert/product information about what this item does!It is a total waste of money... unless you want to use it with another apple base station... in which case it will then extend your wi-fi netw...

Not as good as I'd hoped - apple have dropped the ball.
I bought this for use with my ipad, and while it works, it doesn't perform as well as I'd hoped and for me, the negatives outweigh the benefits.Firstly, I'm not impressed with the sound quality at all. I am streaming from my ipad to a Sony amp with a 5.1 set up, and I don't know - maybe its the MP3 format (its the first time I've used MP3 as my main listening format, preferring vinyl or at least CDs up until now) but the sound quality sounds dreadful to me.Also, this thing has the mo...

Surprisingly Simple!
After reading other reviews concerning problems setting up, I'd been put off buying this for a while, but when I found one going cheap in PC World I couldn't resist. Following the simple instructions I was set up and listening to music in 5 minutes, I'm amazed how good it sounds too especially when ripped in apple lossless. There's also a video tutorial on Apple's website if you really do get stuck.

Good value multiple functions
I have two of these devices, one to act as a wireless print server and one to stream music from my mac upstairs to my hifi downstairs. As others have commented, the set up is not as straightforward as you might expect from Apple. Nevertheless I would say that the Airport Express is much easier to set up as a wireless print server than any other device I have tried. I have also found that initial set up is straightforward if you connect the the device in a "wired" fashion to your router via a C...

No setup probs with vista
Just got one and had no probs setting it up with vista. Hardwired it with ethernet cable first to do the set up then unplugged the cable. Just using it for airtunes and it sounds great. Very impressed, might well get another to add sound to another room too. Have tried it in my attic room and it found the network and started streaming within 60 seconds!!!

No complaints
This is a clever multifunctional device. It can be used to extend your existing 'n' network, it can be connected via a USB port to allow wireless printing from all your computers around the house, and it can stream music from i-tunes when connected to powered speakers.Unlike other reviewers, I had no problems setting this up, or updating the hardware. In my installation it's wirelessly linked to an Apple Time Capsule which is used the the 'n' base station - linked by cable to a router. The...

An expensive paperweight
This product worked until I followed apple's advice to update the firmware to 7.3.1You would expect this to fix any bugs, instead it rendered the device useless and now it refuses to show up on my network. It's also impossible to fix this using either a mac or a windows PC

Excellent Product
Bought this to stream music to my hi fi. Didn't have any problems with the setup but did use a CAT5e cable from PC to Airport Express for setup. A few questions from the setup wizard later and all was connected. As with all Apple products you are tied to apple, so for streaming its itunes unless you use a niffty piece of sw (costs around £15) called airfoil which allows you to stream from any windows/mac application to your airport express. Amazing !

Brilliant
Love it. Had problems initially setting it up: however after going through forums and trying various things, it worked. It kept dropping the signal every minute or so - but after I changed the "802.11n" to "b/g", it worked like a dream.I leave it plugged into my hi-fi, and powered up all the time - however a few times I have been woken up by the computer playing through it at 5 am - I suspect it is due in part to my computer being set to do automatic updates overnight, and something triggerin...
