Great style, not so sure about useability
Just had this for Christmas so I'm not entirely up to speed to say the least. Looks great, earphones are an improvement on the old ones I had with an early Nano model despite widespread criticisms I've read elsewhere about the shuffle earphones. It will take a while to get used to the controls to move on the songs and playlists though but I like the position of the controls.Easy to set up software on the PC and link to Itunes.Overall, a great Ipod for running and fitness. ipod shuffle
the new ipod shuffle is really for gym and sports users. Being that sort of size and shape but i do find that apple have gone backwards in the designs. I feel having the controls on the headphones makes it more difficult hence why im using my old shuffle instead. The vioce over is abit of a gimic aswell. Also having to find specific head phones for the new shuffle has caused problems aswell. If u are buying an ipod shuffle please buy the old one. Its lighter on ur pocket aswell

Cannot be used outside
This device works as long as you are inside. If used outside the volume and fast forward stops working after about 30 minutes. There may also be repeated voice messages about "All songs", "battery low" etc. Thereafter it shuts down completely. Most likely it is very sensitive to any type of moisture. Therefore cannot be used while running, walking or fitness at a gym. However the sound is very good as long as it works.

iPod Shuffle review
It doesn't matter how small, how much it holds, how long it can play for or what type of cool, new voice interface this iPod shuffle has, the only way to play any music on this is with the factory provided headphones which are worse than rubbish. So until a manufacturer develops some good headphones for this product, do not buy it or you shall come to regret wasting your money.

is a good product untill the earphones pack in which happens regularly unfortunatly. As they control the skip song function and the volume without them its pritty useless!

Not great for young kids
I'm very disappointed with Apple. This is a classic case of 'if it ain't broke don't fix it'. The second generation ipod was ideal as a starter ipod for kids: really simple and easy to use. This next one is much smaller and trickier because the controls are on the earphones cable, not on the ipod itself. It does look cool like all Apple products but I bought it for a 7 year old and after two months she's frustrated with it. You've got the alternatives of the earlier version (at twice the price) ...
