Get a Mac and don't look back
I got off to a bad start with this purchase: its built-in iSight camera didn't work properly. However, I have to say that Amazon responded very speedily and got a free-of-charge replacement on its way within 24 hours. Now it's up and working, I can only echo the comments of other reviewers. It is a triumph of form and function. Everything about it, from the perfectly spaced, back-lit keyboard to its wondrous 'buttonless' trackpad, is there to give the user the best possible experience...

Converted - Totally!!
I first noticed this Mac back in October, and thought that aesthetically it was a beautifully engineered machine, but have never bought in to the Apple hype, as a) it's never appealed, and b) a Computer is a computer is a computer, right?WRONG!Now I know Vista has come in for a lot of criticism, but I started using it the day it launched nearly 2 years ago, and have NEVER had a problem with it. What I have continually had a problem with, is that new PC's/Laptops start of...

Best Laptop since sliced bread
Hi guys It's a very well made piece of kid. No objection. It feels sturdy and stong, then again, with the whole nw process it goes through to be manufactured, who would think it wouldn't be?I want to just comment on how when i orderd mine, i had a sony viao (13") and i hated how..... small it was. It was TRYING too much, the scren didn't look 13" - it looked 10, they keys were small, the trackpad was small, it was trying to hard to be portable.I didn't quite k...

The best computer you can buy for your money
If you ever needed a final excuse to switch from PCs to Macs, this is it. The unibody MacBook has an aluminium enclosure milled from a single slab of metal to give it added strength, sturdiness, low weight and a very thin profile. It is a very clever piece of design and has an integrity found in no other machine made by any other manufacturer. Although it looks gorgeous, the design is all about functionality not aesthetics, from the magnetic latch, hidden speakers that bounce sound o...

Excellent machine
I would like to put my neck on the line here and make a statement - This is the best and most powerful 13" notebook on the market. Not only that, its the most stylish, the most rugged, and the most value. A Dell XPS with a 2.6 ghz (which is actually a lot slower than the macs 2.4 due to a vastly lower fsb speed) starts at £1280 - more than this macbook. It has a horrible plasticy case, a non-LED screen, 3gb (almost a minimum for vista) of DDR2 ram (mac has DDR3), an older graphics card and a ...

Buy this laptop
A long time Mac user now I've only been more and more impressed by the continuing development of Apple's laptops. From the original MacBook which was easily an upgrade from a PowerBook the new MacBook blurs the line between the pro and consumer lines so much that I'm amazed they still differentiate between them.Ignore any thoughts you have about Apple being a premium brand - spec up a similar Dell and it comes out at around the same price but won't comes with the legendary iLife pack...

Nice,Bright,Shiny but...
After years of PC's with Microsoft operating systems I was seduced by reviews and personal recommendations to try Apple. So I went the whole hog and bought this MacBook together with the 24" Cinema Screen.Beautifully designed and made, solid and classy, even the packaging reeks of quality. The screen is pin-sharp and the 'Dock' is novel. There it stops. Microsoft have had the boot put into them for years while Mac users gloat and preen. I expected to find the new operating system (Mac OSX ...

MacBook downgrade
This would be a very nice (albeit overpriced) machine, but for one thing - no Firewire. The old machine had it, this one doesn't. There's absolutely no work-around either. That means no fast external hard drives, no Firewire camcorders, no Target Disk Mode (to fix it/copy data & setting), no high quality audio devices etc etc. Don't say you weren't warned. Hoping Apple wise up and bring it back pronto. It seems absurd for a computer / electronics to take away a feature in the new vers...

Take the silver pill
I've never used a Mac at all, and always found the 'elitism' surrounding the brand a little confusing. Having owned one for a couple of days i understand what the fuss is all about. No need to read the manual, you will be working out of the box in no time. Everything about the OS is vastly superior to Microsoft's efforts to emulate it. The build quality is outstanding, and using this machine is a joy rather than a chore. The best way to describe the quantum step might be to...
