Design error - too small for purpose.
I have to agree with the previous reviewer who complained that the device was simply not large enough to enable the use of all eight sockets when some of your peripherals come with large adaptors. The concept is excellent but this issue does let it down. Three of the appliances I wished to connect to my computer through this device - speakers, modem and router - all have large adaptors. A well advised purchase, but beware issues with high power draw computers
Given that these surge protectors are available at nominal cost and will protect your potentially valuable electronic equipment in the event of a power spike, these items are an obvious purchase for every household. There's not really a lot more to say, except that the build quality of the power strip seems to be high. My only issue I have found is that I sometimes have difficulty persuading my PC to boot when it is powered via the surgemaster. The problem seems to be the initial high power draw...

Rubbish for telephone/modem protection
According to their customer services department, Belkin used to provide a BT to BT telephone cable with this. But they don't any more. This cable is essential because you can't buy them. All you can buy is BT to RJ11 (the little one - looks like a modem plug). BUT, if you buy an RJ11 to BT adaptor to try and fix the problem, it crosses the connections, so that doesn't work, either. The only way is to either buy a BT to RJ11 crossover cable and one adaptor. Or to buy an RJ11 to RJ11 cable and TWO...

Great...but....
Does the job well but it's been countless times now I've hit the stupidly placed on / off switch with my foot shutting down anything that's plugged in and losing changes on the computer.A redesign is called for with the switch in a less prominent position.

Needs More space for adapters!
I had a really hard time deciding how many stars to give this. Overall, I'm happy with quality. Seems solid, good warranty on it, and the insurance offered w/ it is a bonus. I like the little bar that raises up to hold in the plugs' cables, and the cool swivel-plugs are the reason I got it. The downside is just too big of an issue for me to ignore. I am a musician and have lots of adapters. Most of them are big... and it's not just music equipment, I have some normal computer speakers by creativ...

Propper Job!
Perfect solution for someone who has loads of stuff to plug in. Currently i have three external harddrives, a wireless TV receiver, my electric piano, my monitor and my printer all plugged in, and it works fine. Two of the sockets are 'swivelable', which is great for those plugs with upwards facing wires. Phone surge connectors: 1xInput 2xOutput. So i guess this works as a splitter too. Brill :DIt's solid too, so i think it will last a fair while :)Great buy!

If you value your computers, then get this!
Most people here have said it all. As an IT person, I cannot stress enough the importance of surge suppresors in conjunction with computing equipment. Computer components are very susceptible to electricity fluctuations or surges, and one too many will fry the internal components, rendering your computer a very expensive paperweight! Save yourself the hassle and get this: a simple, straightforward, wallet friendly solution.Ordered this Dec 31, and got it Jan 4th! As always, Amazon delivers...

Research before buying!
What they never tell you with these things is that you can't just buy one and have it work with anything a normal socket will power. Surge Protectors have ratings, and most of the cheap Belkin ones won't cover half of what the average person would want to connect to it. Read up on surge protectors, and your equipment, before buying one!

Superb value for money
I ordered one of these to replace a standard 6 plug extension bar. I was a little worried that the rather huge power supply for my cable modem wouldn't fit into it, but it slotted in just fine thanks to the rotating sockets at one end.As mentioned in another review, there is one main on/off switch which doesn't take much pressure to activate, so be careful that you don't accidentally switch everything off. For less than a tenner though, you're getting a quality product with a lifetime warr...
