I absolutely adore this lens. Given the very wide angle you can pull off some very creative shots with this it. It is a fantastic portrait lens, allowing you to get close to the subject whilst still having a lot of the background visible.The close minimum focus distance of only 24cm is a great and very useful feature!It also works really well when used for Astophotography! A great wide angle lens
I own this lens since a month now and I can only say "waouh..." I've never use so wide a lens before (28mm was the lowest I've used before) but it's a revelation. I corroborate previous comments, the lens is sharp at all apertures, there is almost no barrel distorsion even at 10mm wide open. EF 10-22 My View
Having had this lens for a couple of weeks now I can only echo the good things others have said here. It's a joy to use and if you want/need wide angle on an APS-C then this seems to be as good as it gets. I use this in conjuction with Tamron's 18-250 and for me this combination covers all the bases to the extent that I don't even bother taking my other lens out with me now. Excellent super-wide solution for EF-S mount
This lens was created to fill the hole in Canon's range for a super wide angle lens for their range of EF-S mount DSLR's.Fortunately, since it inhabits a unique position in the range, it is a superb lens and there is no real alternative (from Canon anyway) that covers the same focal lengths.It's not an L lens so don't expect weather sealing and and lens pouches/lens hoods in the box. Really wide angle for EOS400
If you want wide angle and have a Canon 400d/350d this is the lens. Even with the cropping factor it goes really wide (16mm) and you can get some wonderful panoramic photos. It's sharp, with good contrast and colours and only very mild vignetting at the 10mm end of things. Super Wide-angle lens
This is a superb lens for the EOS 300-D or 20D. At last we can shoot real wide-angle - I use it for landscapes and have been delighted with the image quality. It feels a quality piece of kit as well, which helps when you're spending this sort of money!

Canon Digital -SLR Lens EF-S 10-22mm f3.5-4.5 USM lens
Stunning bit of kit! I take a lot of photos of interiors of hotel rooms etc. This lense gives a brilliant wide angle and minimum distortion. Usual excellent Canon reliability and overall quality. Used with my new EOS 20D it takes a lot of beating.

I had mostly owned kit lenses before I bought this. That meant I found the improvement in image quality remarkable. It's wide enough to capture three walls of most normal sized rooms, and it gives a remarkable level of detail (I could read titles of books on bookcases even in the corner of the image on the widest setting). Amazing lens
Beautifully built lens. Incredible wide angle shots made easy. Using it with a high Mp camera you can use it as your stock lens, just crop instead of swapping lenses. Very little distortion at either end of the zoom range. Silent and instant focus. Can't fault it.
