High end router, Great price.
I have never purchased an Edimax product before so I was pleasantly surprised how good this router really is. I have always used Linksys or netgear, but decided to purchase this because of price and strong reviews.The signal range is great all over my house using it to connect 2 wireless workstations, PS3, HP Wireless network printer and Laptop.As an N draft router it's pretty good. The GUI is somewhat different from other routers but not complicated to setup just takes getting used to....

What can I say: I've always had Linksys routers, but decided to upgrade and started looking for a new gigabyte router it was between this and the D-Link DIR-855 Xtreme N . I went with EDIMAX after readying a review by Computer Buyer, I was doubtful due to the price, but don't let this put you off. I'm so glad I wasn't. not what it seams
I ordered this item to replace my g-rated modem router due to a weak signal strength in some parts of my home. It worked fine as a router, but it is NOT a modem and I thus returned it. Perhaps for us non-techie's the product ought to state more clearly that you will still need a modem with this product.

This is not an ADSL router but a cable router !
I'm not sure how good the unit is as I was expecting an ADSL router. The advertised name as Broadband router is very miss leading, even for techies like me. AMAZON SORT THIS OUT! I'm debating on weather to send it back.

Better than my old Belkin by a mile
LATEST UPDATE:Been meaning to write this for ages - the router is now working correctly again - still not sure what the problem was but have tightened up some connections and this has probably solved it. It's advertised as a "router", so you'll need to keep your existing modem/router to connect to the internet and switch off DCHP in your old modem and put your old router into 'bridge' mode to pass-thru the internet to this box(otherwise you'll get IP conflicts and all sorts of problems). Let this box do all the high-speed routing. Not difficult to set up and good performance as expected, with WPA security
I selected this product to give powerful and reliable (all day) domestic performance (from the front end of the house through 2-3 walls as far as the near back garden) in our good-sized detached house. I also wanted a set-up that was not over-complex, and WPA security levels. It hasn't disappointed so far.

I bought one of these to replace my ageing netgear WGR614v5. I was a bit unsure at first because I'd not heard of the name - I usually just go for netgear stuff. However the old 614 wasn't working too well with Virgin broadband (random drop outs, uploads failing, webpages not displaying first time, 7-11 Mbit speed on a 20Mbit line). Excellent !
Bought this to replace the awful router which SKY provided as I couldn't get Wi-Fi in some of the house at all. Installed the Edimax, which took minimal fuss and now I get max signal everwhere. Having the Gigabit switch means that I no longer need a seperate router for my high speed nework as well. I'ts very well finished in gloss white too. A really good product.

Reliable WiFi at last!
I have lost count of the number of WiFi access points and routers I have had over the years as I have tried in vain to get a decent wireless signal to each corner of my house.
