spoilt by customer care

This unit does what it says like most other sat navs. The promise of an update if you register is somewhat spoilt by the fact that you need a suitable USB cable to achieve this and unfortunately one was not supplied which is a clear oversight - disappointing and inconvenient.

Excellent! Have previously used factory-fitted in-car sat navs, which were good but the Garmin is small and neat and gives much more comprehensive directions than any I have previously used. One criticism is that foreign street names are so hopelessly pronounced! But, hey, my previous sat navs didn't even give street names. It was recommended to me and I have since recommended it to others. Would buy it again.

BE AWARE of replacement units

2 starts because it lasted only 2 years (and in these years it worked all right across Europe).after 2 years we let the battery go flat (nothing about this is written in the user manual) and it never came back.Garmin said they expect the battery to last more than 2 years (they did not specify how long), they kindly offered the replacement unit for GBP 43.3 + GBP 5 shipment not working unit.We got it and it works but BE AWARE, replacement units:- are units that had problems and that

Charger

Charger broke after 1 week of careful use, very poor. Ecoroute interesting to use, taking me on very scenic routes. But it has also tried to take me down 2 dead ends + 1 un metalled track in New Forest. Nethertheless I would recommend. It is my first sat nav

Decent GPS - Needs Updates

I just moved to the UK for work so I bought this GPS. It gets me around most of the time..... but badly needs updating. I bought it in January 2012 and now it's April, so I wouldn't think that it is already out of date. I live in Derby, UK and it is pretty clueless about the roads in Derby. Every time I leave my house, it tries to directly me to a dead end. There is also a 'ring road' that goes around the 'city centre' and it's also clueless about that. This GPS has taken us the wrong way
