Patience required
I'm sure the product is excellent, but my advice is avoid it - unless you have two hours to spare and a lot of patience. It comes complete with absolutely NO instructions, just a mass of packaging and a thing like a credit card. From there on, you're on your own. Try using a map.

Lifetime updates? Yes, please!
I bought a Garmin Nuvi back in 2006. Love it. It has been really useful as I do a lot of travel and I can use it in cities I am unfamiliar with all over Europe as a walking guide as well as for driving.Of late, I was noticing that more often the maps were out-of-date. Good product - once you've got it installed . . .
The maps are great - only had one problem turning off a brand new motorway in Poland. Used it as a handheld getting around Dresden on foot/public transport, plotting attractions and restaurants. Really pleased.This giftcard option is cheaper than buying direct from Garmin, and I like the idea of updates for not so much more than a one-off. Good idea, if they provided the updates
I have 2 NuMaps Lifetimes for my 2 Garmin Nuvi SatNavsGreat idea, for a "reasonable" price. update details.
update took about 2hrs on good broadband connection, back of pack states you need 1gb ram and 15gb hard drive space for download. i have a 1.24gb and the storage space although the main download file was only 3.46gb. when it came to uploading to my garmin nuvi 255 which had a europe map on it, it said i didn't have room for the whole file and i had to select a file to load - uk and eire which didn't take long to load. the other maps are on my laptop and i guess if i need them i can easily put th...

Too space hungry!
The first time I downloaded an update using this product was in May 2009 with the April 2009 release. It took an age to download and then demanded about 7.5 Gb of free C-drive space to extract and 'launch' to the GPS. I managed to clear virtually everything off my PC except for primary applications and then had over 9 Gb of spare space, so after nearly half a day and a lot of frustration, I was finally able to update my mapping.Then I waited...and waited...and waited for the so-called 'quar...

Nuvi Lifetime Maps
Takes a some time to download maps dependant upon broadband connection and speed so you have to be a little patient. Once downloaded the process is quite straightforward.

Installation
re garmin Numaps lifetime.Absolutely no instructions in the package. The rub off space was not identified as such and there was a number below it which could have been the code needed. The installation time was 8 hours and while not a problem was an 8nknown at thew start and which was interupted the first time because of an upgrade of the anti virus software. Tne good news is that it works now!

Download nightmare
I have tried to download this 3.5 GB update 6 times and it has so far failed to download. It is currently stopped at 81% with an unexplained error. It got 50% on the Download Manager yesterday and stopped, when I clicked restart it restarted from the start yet again. Unless you are a computer expert with a very fast connection I would not recommend this product.
