2nd time lucky!
Basically I'm happy with this sat nav although the first one that I received had a defective touchscreen and had to be returned. I particularly like the lane indication function which lets you know which lane to get into BEFORE you get to the junction or roundabout. I also like the current speed limit indicator which can also be used in conjunction with the speed camera thingy. I previously used my Road Angel which told me when a camera was coming up, but it didn't tell me what speed I should sl...

Better than another I borrowed!
As I drive mostly without a navigator I borrowed a Tom Tom from a friend to go into London last Christmas - I usually get lost once I get to the embankment!! It was fantastic so I decided to purchase one of my own but went for the Garmin Nuvi 1310 after studying a Which? report. It is better than the one I borrowed - more specific with road names included and even tells you when you reach the exact house. The instructions are not brilliant - but since my Son showed me how the functions work I'm ...

Good, but some issues
Decided to take the plunge and get a sat nav after thinking that I didn't want to lose my map reading skills. I've owned my Nuvi for 5 months and I'm glad that I purchased it. I read a lot of reviews before deciding which sat nav to purchase. In the end it was between the Tom Tom and Garmin models, but Garmin offered more features for less money. The main features are intuitive and I was able to find my way around them and work them out without reading the manual. Some features I figured out ...

pleased - it works well - a few niggles
this is my first satnav.i bought it because on holiday in unfamilier parts of southern england, i had to keep pulling over to stop and look at the map, and often having to reverse direction. i think all these negotiations increase ones chances of an incident.this satnav works well, easy to follow and not distracting.nice choice of male or female voice. good screen displays.the menus are not that easy to follow, but once the basic things you want are in place, its ok.

Good unit, with drawbacks
this unit was bought as an upgrade to the nuvi 300. it is a solid well built item that performs well apart from one very big and irritating drawback, the touch screen, it is a nightmare to enter addresses, the 'button areas' are so vague that you often get the wrong letter inserted and when you press the 'erase' button or the 'done' button, it is hit and miss whether it works. i have returned this unit and will continue with the nuvi 300. very disappointed.

Garmin Nuvi 1310
Excellent SatNav, easy to use. Registration of the product with Garmin was very easy and recommended (I received a Map & software update instantly). Didn't bother with the 'Traffic' version as I'm not on the road enough to warrant it, too many darn wires! Very clear voice instructions, stuck with the English 'voice' after playing around with Aussie and Yank voices. Found all addresses inputted so far. In summary its a clear, easy to use SatNav and well worth the money.

Great SatNav
I just had my Sony Nav-U stolen out of my car, so I've replaced it with a Garmin which seemed to be rated better than TomTom by those who've used both. I can certainly tell you it's miles better than Sony (who have exited the SatNav business by the way which is why you can't get map updates). The Nuvi is light, sleek, thin and very responsive. It takes no time to find addresses and calculate a route after the first time, Bluetooth seems loud and clear (though I haven't used it yet while driving)...

Good for the money!
i got this sat nav as an upgrade from my garmin 310 as i felt it was time for a newer unit.i got the unit 3 days ago and as i do use the sat nav alot i thought i would share my opinion.First off when you get the box you are greeted with the sat nav facing upwards and instant impression is "its bigger but thinner!"so no messing about i instantly took it out the box and it felt light smooth matt finish on it, but sturdy i then looked at all the cables, you get the car charger, window s...

Well made/straightforward but a little disappointing in use
I bought this slim, wide screen Garmin to replace a failed Tomtom Go 510 which I could not get repaired or even make any contact with the completely invisible and anonymous Tomtom organisation - avoid at all costs!. The Garmin 1310 is beautifully made and comes with a simple but perfectly working (please note Tomtom)attachment bracket. You get the usual in-car charger but no seperate mains unit or mini USB to standard USB cable - this was no problem for me as I have an Ipod type mains unit and i...

So easy to use
This is my first Sat Nav and after some research and price comparisons I opted for this the Garmin Nuvi 1310.The screen is superb, very clear and easy to view in all lighting conditions. Being one of those people who fiddle first and read the manual later I found the menus immediately easy to navigate and intuitive.I've seen some reviews for these commenting on the touchscreen being poor and the one I have was not good out of the box. The touchscreen needed calibrating but after following ...
