Product Never Arrived
I ordered a Garmin Nuvi 1390 Sat nav for a Christmas present it did not arrived within the scheduled dates so I complained to Amazon who quickly replied and said they had sent another one due for delivery before Christmas, again it never arrived, I got one in the Boxing Day sales at Halfords cheaper the product is great but I'm afraid the on line experience from Amazon was NOT good, I did get a full refund fairly quickly from Amazon but no apology at all.

doe's what it says on the tin
I've had this for about 3 weeks and can't fault it, yes the cables are on the big side but it works well and gets you to your destination very well, I prefer the 3D view as some road junction's are quite difficult in 2D view and the device will advise you to turn into xxxxxx road in 50 yards or whatever, all well and good if you know where that road isand if you are a stranger to the area then most likely you won't, but overall a neat piece of kit apart from the cables ....

Massive cables
I am an avid Garmin fan, and my series 7 is now getting a bit old, so I thought I'd go for this one.The device itself is nicely made, and you get all the fittings necessary.The biggest problem with it, and thus making it generally unusable, are the power cords supplied with it, and then an additional cord that plugs into the thick power cord for the traffic. Good when it worked!
The low rating is for reliability, as when it worked it was very good with its directions and infomation and would have rated 4 stars,Had the unit for a week then drove to spain with very good directions although the unit did decide turn it self off a couple of times, as neared destination unit started giving wrong infomation and kept going into recalculating mode where after the 4th time froze at 80% ,after that could not get unit to pass the loading maps stage when turning on.Seems that ...

Bought it few weeks ago lovely, slim, easy to use product, but had to return it back as it started to turn itself off while I tap on the screen, than I could not turn it back on until some time later, what a shame such lovely unit would have surely kept it but unfortunately happen to be faulty one, I own Garmin Nuvi 660 that also bought from Amazon a good while (over 2yr) ago, still works perfectly

I have had the product for 4 weeks and found it to be an amazingly good unit. Navigation is easier than with TomTom and the Traffic warnings are brilliant with excellent diversionary information and re-routing that have kept me moving all of the time.The unit refused to start 5 days ago and will only recycle off-startup-copywrite screen-loading maps-back to off! Garmin paper weights
After a lot of research I replaced my old and clunky but reliable Navman machine with a Garmin 1390 Traffic. It worked very well until about 5 weeks after I received it, then it refused to load maps and would not connect to my computer. Amazon replaced it with another unit very rapidly. Garmin Nuvi 1390 Sat Nav
Item tested over Christmas period with a drive from the Midlands across France/Germany to Zurich. Touch screen very sticky and difficult to use. French/German pronunciation very bad. Was glad to have an observer reading off all foreign names. Mapping very clear and motorway lanes very helpful. Directions are well timed and give good notice prior to junctions. As stated previously - the charging cable is very meaty!
