Great little Gadget
I purchased this as i wanted to record freeview programs, as my PC is relativly new I did not want to break the warrenty seals to install an onboard card.I have to admit that I have this linked to a full size antenna situated within my loft space. I decided to use WMC to control the device so have not installed the win TV softwear so far it has provided prfect picture and sound quality and along with the WMC tv softwear and EPG fullfils all of my requierments.

easy as pie
Got this today and it worked fine straight out of the box. I am running it on a small internal aerial and it works perfectly. It doesn't even matter which way I point it.software is ok as well.

Does what it says on the box
Initially I gave this a 1 star rating, since it hung my system (XP) whenever I tried to install it. I have since discovered that the Nvidia graphics card drivers I had were causing the freeze - which also affected AVI files. I upgraded to the latest drivers from Nvidia's site and now everything works fine. It picked up all 64 channels through a shared coaxial cable and displays them without glitches. Good buy but beware.....
The truth is that if your buying a digital TV card (freeveiw), that the cards themselves have little influence on the overall quality of the TV you will watch. All the cards can pick up the same stations (E4, BBC news 24, Kerrang etc... whether its your 70£ terratec all singing all dancing ,or your cheap little USB Hauppauge stick. Great little gizmo-if you read instructions properly
I noticed M.Barratt wrote that he got a much better choice of stations when he disconnected supplied arial and used his home main one--well the instructions clearly tell you to do that. Brilliant product
Having tried Pinnacle's dvb-t stick on my laptop, which failed miserably (erasing the drivers for my DVD drive), I returned it and replaced it with this. In constrast to the Pinnacle stick, this is genuinely vista compatible. I plugged it in, and had the drivers working within a very short space of time. Appauling
The software is easy enough to install, however, it won't pick up more than 10-15 channels (and thats with a good ariel!). But, that isn't the worst of the problems. Once it makes it past the "scanning" it crashes frequently, especially when changing channels and enabling "full screen mode". Sometimes it is so bad that it freezes up the entire computer, thus having to do a force restart. Excellent if you load the right drivers and use a decent aerial
I notice that people either rate this device very badly or can't give it enough praise. I can only conclude that the people who think that it is rubbish are doing something wrong.When I got mine (from PC World at their web price of £30 but collected in the store) I plugged it straight in to the aerial socket in the wall, knowing that the 6" 'wire' aerial that they give you wouldn't give a radio a very good reception, never mind a Freeview TV - it only just gives a signal for the analogue t...

The hardware wizard runs separately for several features of the stick - why couldn't it run once for the whole thing? It doesn't like rooftop aerials that point at more than one transmitter - gets confused and finds nothing because, according to Support, it doesn't go off signal strength.
