Poor interface, and totally unreliable
I bought this in Currys just before Christmas 2011. Over the next two months, I found that it frequently failed to record porgrammes which had been set up on the timer. Towards the end of February, I finally lost patience with it when it stopped recording in the middle of a programme for no reason. I brought it back to the store next day. I was told that it needed a factory reset which they did there. I was not happy with this, but I was persuaded to speak to someone at LG who assured me

It does not work in Italy!!!!!!
I have received this item on Dec 2, but alas I have soon realized I cannot make it work properly in Italy.
1. On the first tuning the system gets stuck at 100%.
2. After restarting, it shows a snowy screen (we have no analogic channels in Italy)
3. Every digital channel has a "Low signal" writing superimposed on it, so that it does not allow me to record.
4. The digital channels numbering starts at 800, and it does not support the Italian numbering (called LCN).

Great buy
I brought this recorder for my elderly parents who are 84 & 79yrs old. They wanted to replace their old DVD recorder for the new digital world of TV. I was a bit concerned that it may be difficult for them to use, but to my surprise, it was relatively easy to use. Set up was so very easy. Recording and playback so far has been very good. IT is much better than my own Samsung model, which is 2yrs old and I'm tempted to buy an LG model myself.
