Do not buy this router - read this before buying!
I saw this router came top in the Which? review and despite some bad reviews on Amazon I decided to go ahead and buy it. This was a bad move. Initially the router was easy to set up and worked well initially.About 3 months after purchase it started losing connection to the Internet which was resolved by unplugging and plugging back in the telephone line or re-booting the router. This problem became more and more frequent and then to top it all I had problems connecting wirelessly. Alth...

A great router, simple to use yet highly configurable.
After having used a number of different ADSL routers over the past few years, I decided to try this model because of the reliability of CISCO in the comercial world. I was not willing to spend several hundred pounds on a cisco model but Linksys are CISCO's consumer brand. I have been very happy with the performance and reliability of this device. The configuration is simple and powerful with very precise control over firewall rules. The wireless settings are versitle and allow for a large number...

WAG160N wireless does not work
This is a great looking router and its wired functions works very well indeed. However, it is a wireless router, and that is the bit that does not work. All the following comments refer to wireless clients only. The DHCP server will frequently fail to allocate an IP address when the client restarts. Result - no network connection until a router reboot. Secondly, if you allocate a fixed IP address to get round that problem, file and printer sharing does not work - clients cannot see each other.

Phenomenal router! Edit: Warning: Apple compatibility issues
I rarely review items on Amazon, but felt compelled to write a short review of this product to counter the other rather negative reviews.I bought this, after reading high praise on various websites such as pc pro, to replace an aging BT voyager router. This is not a router for the technically timid. Setup involves an awkward looking web-based config - however, once you obtain the right settings from your broadband provider the fields are easy to fill - in fact, for me the default sett...

Unreliable
I've had this router for a couple of months now and had problems from day one. It works for about 24 hours at a time before needing to be switched off and on again. The problems are with file sharing between computers connected to the router. I'm not alone in this, Linksys' own Support Forum is full of disgruntled users -- see for yourself! I'm sure all it would take is a firmware update to fix the problems, but I've waited long enough. As it stands this router just doesn't cut it.

Great little router!
Router arrived Thursday, had been putting off setting it up until Saturday. That was silly as it took no more than 5 minutes from unpacking to being connected wirelessly to the internet.Small, easy to use, good range/coverage and achieves and maintains pretty near the theoretical maximum for my ADSL connection. It even looks quite nice.I will note that I'm only using it on 'G' and not 'N' yet as I'm still awaiting my new PC with a 'draft N' adpater. Not found anything to compl...

Doesn't work!
I've spent the last 4 days trying to set this up, but no matter what I try it simply does not work. In exasperation I checked out comments posted on various chatsites, only to find that Virgin Broadband does not support it! Pity they don't tell you that on the product details! I can't believe that Cisco would market a piece of equipment that isn't supported by one of the biggest internet providers in the UK. I have spoken to Virgin and they have confirmed the above. Whether you blame Cisco or V...

Great coverage, nice looks - nearly perfect!
The Linksys Wireless N Router marks my first foray in to the world of wireless 'N'. I had previously been using a D-Link wireless 'G' router, which was effective enough. However, the signal coverage wasn't fantastic, and I only live in a 1 bed flat! The signal only managed to reach about 7 or 8 meters from the router, and even at that distance was weak, having travelled through one or two walls. Considering the technology behind `G' networking is supposed to be superior to `B', I was not impres...

Buyer Beware
Buyer beware. This equipment is probably very similar to the WAG160N, which does not work properly. I bought the WAG160N so I could connect a new laptop by wireless. Needing a VoIP phone adapter to work with the modem I called Linksys to ask what I should do. They recommended a Linksys PAP2T adapter which I also bought. 1. The wireless internet connection fails frequently and constantly needs rebooting. I might just as well sit at the wired desktop. 2. The VoIP adapter normally does not work. Li...

Great Router - But no SSL Remote Management...
I personally like Linksys routers having owned a few. But I am frustrated yet again to find that this supposed new model doesn't offer SSL (https) based remote management. I need the ability to log into my router from a remote location and manipulate my DMZ settings and I don't want to be passing my username and password in the 'clear' over the internet. Mine shipped with Firmware V1.00.06 and a very quick look revealed V1.00.07 was available - The feature wasn't enabled in the new firmware eith...
