Rubbish product that failed within 6 months
Title says it all. It worked fine for a while, then after about 5 months the DSL/Internet connection started to more or less randomly fail. It probably is getting too hot and crashing. Don't buy. This is the 2nd one I've had that failed. The first one was hardware version 1, and it suddenly died after 2 years. I decided to get another, this time version 2 - but it's now dead as well. Cisco will possibly provide me with another, but I don't want it - I want a refund.

Wireless radio crippled
I bought this router because my Belkin refused to play nice with a Linksys ATA adapter for VOIP. I installed it yesterday, and immediately noticed a drop in broadband speed (down from 9Mbps to 2).
I called up my ISP and we discovered a hard connection via CAT5 delivered 9Mbps, but a wireless connection delivered only 1.8-2Mbps. I also noticed the signal strength was all over the place. The radio in my Linksys WAG160n is clearly well below par.

Not very good
I purchased this router a while ago and it's been fairly poor in terms of speed, security and general quality.
It was easy to set up, but nothing will connect using WPA2/AES (iPhones, Android phones, mutliple laptops etc), so I've had to drop it to WPA, which is still okay, but not the best.
The wireless signal is poor, and unless you're right on top of the router the connection is weak. We live in a modern cardboard house, so it's not thick stone walls that are blocking it. Tired

Avoid, Wireless access doesn't work, frequent dropouts
Don't waste your money on this product if you going to use the access point (the likely reason you are considering it!). I and others have this router for over a year and the wireless in each has frequent dropouts (many times per hour). I tried using Linksys support and updated to the latest firmware but the problem persists. I've tried playing with all the settings and haven't been successful. The workaround is to turn off/on the WAG160n (pull out power cable as no power button) or turn

Problems with WAG160N
I bought this router/modem after having read rave reviews in the computer press. I have tried to get it going twice in the past year. It was a disaster the first time I tried the internet just slowed to a halt and then cut out. The second time I followed the installation instructions very carefully using the installation disc. Again initially it worked fine for a short time then slowed down and ground to a halt! My model is the German one and I have reverted to my old German Telecom router/modem
