I've had a Duet for about 4 months now and am at that stage where I couldn't live without it. Having transferred 500 CDs onto my pc in lossless FLAC format, I can now play any almost instantaneously - I'd forgotten I had half of them. Flawed to distraction
I can only repeat some of the other feedback on here.Actually getting the unit set up was quite straightforward. I mostly wanted one of these to listen to Napster and other streaming music services. Annoyingly and frustratingly it seems unable to hold a connection and randomly drops a track. Not ready for prime time
Avoid this product until such time as they have got the bugs out. I have two receivers, one duet controller and an SB3. The SB3 works perfectly, which is why I "upgraded" to the Duet. The wireless range of the new receivers is much less than that of the SB3 but an even bigger problem is the instability of the wireless links. Every day I wonder whether the system will work today. Excellent product
I own several products from Slim Devices/Logitech, including three different models of Squeezebox. I recently purchased a Duet system as well. So far I have been very happy with it! It works with my existing Squeezeboxes in addition to the new receiver that comes in the Duet package. It is very nice having a graphical remote that does not require line-of-site to the player. I got this product a few weeks back. It's not a plug in a play type of product, it can take a little bit of effort to get it to work and I wouldn't recommend it for someone with little or no technical knowledge. Having said that I think the sound quality is excellent unlike the previous poster. If you rip your CD's to a lossless format you will get the best sound quality. Extremely Disappointing
Having read many glowing reviews of the Squeezebox Duet here and elsewhere, I bought one.Big mistake. I had no problems in getting it working as some others have, but from there on it disappointed in almost every regard. The biggest problem is sound quality - contrary to the claim, it is not of Hi-Fi quality. I suspect that devices like this are responsible for giving mp3 digitisation a bad reputation. Sound quality, playing the same files, is much worse than that achieved by plugging an iPod...
