Poor quality
 
Have had the GS605V2 for about 2 years when it began to completely slug the network segment it served. Haven't bothered to find out what it was doing. I have just replaced it with another make.

Poor switch
 
Had this switch for just over 2 years and it stopped working at some point within that period. Only just recently figured out my network problems were down to it and no it's not down to my cables as they work just fine in my other 1Gbit switches. It works at 1 Gbit if only 2 cables are plugged in, but the moment more are plugged in it drops down to 100Mbps or even lower. Runs very hot. Have a Zyxel 8-port which runs cooler. Would recommend other makes, e.g. Zyxel or 3COM. Get the distinct

Set and forget, but you might need more ports than you think
 
Using to network the increasing number of devices around my TV (TV, Blu-ray player, Xbox 360). Works fine and haven't had any problems whatsoever. Don't underestimate how many ports you might need though. In my set up there is already only 1 free (3 + 1 uplink) so consider buying an 8 port one (I probably would if I was going to buy one).

good value, prompt delivery working perfectly as the other netgeat switches I have purchased. Would recommend Netgear products all the devices I am currently using have worked perfectly out of the box with no failures 5 in all.

Does exactly what it says on the box.
 
I have 3 PCs, an x-box and a Buffalo Linkstation NAS connected to this little switch and basically you just plug in the network cables and it works. The port numbers glow green when they make a Gigabit connection and orange for 10/100 Mbps.It's small and stylish in a typical Netgear way and you can position it standing up on the supplied clip on legs or laying down flat. The small size of this switch means it doesn't take up much room on your desk either way round.Running a
