Another quality piece of kit from Netgear
Having been a Network Engineer for several years now, I have always recommended Netgear switches for smaller networks. Perfect for beginners and advanced alike
Never having networked before, i bought this switch after some advice from a local network guru. I have never looked back.The device is very small, (about the size of a fist) and exceedingly light, not counting the plug that comes with it.Getting my laptop attached to my computer was very simple. Should be clearer in the description!
I bought this thinking it would be a suitable replacement for a router!Don't get me wrong I'm not a complete idiot when it comes to technology (I built my own computer and do a bit of programming), but it seems that networking had me flummoxed. I was under the impression that this device was a router and thus would allow me to connect my ps3 etc to the internet. not for the novice users
all is ok to set-up and install untill it comes to opening the routers ports, such as to play online games, allow programs to connect to the internet. If you are a newbie to computers, try a speedtouch router, there alot easier to deal with. This router can be good, as long as you know how to use it and know about opening ports, etc.

Quality Networking Kit
As you'd expect with a switch setup is just a case of plugin the power and your ithernet cables and away you go. The device itself isn't very pretty looking (I prefer the FS105, already having an FS108) but it gets the job done. Not had any problems at all.I currently have 2 PCs connected to this switch, then switch is connected to a router (with it's own built-in switch elsewhere in the house).

Great, but not perfect for xbox 360 parties
I have this switch plugged into my router for a few extra wired ports, it works perfectly however if you are on xbox live your parties will become more unreliable and sometimes impossible to connect to.

Amazing product but READ IF SHARING INTERNET
First Off, This is a brilliant product which I would recomend to anyone, but... It's a Switch - it does what it says on the lid!
Excellent, no nonsense, little Network Switch. Two minutes to unwrap from cardboard packaging and clip-on two plastic feet (to support it vertically); two mins. to plug up cables and mains power unit; less than a minute for the router to connect the new TV and Squeezebox to the router and on to the web by cable! Job done in less time than it takes to type this!

Piece of cake
Take it out the box, plug in a cable from your router, power it up and you've got 4 extra inputs into your network. Great price. Looks fine and flashes to let you know it's doing it's thing. What more could you want!
