Take care if using in repeater mode
If you want to use this product in repeater mode to extend the range of a wireless network, you need a second WG602 access point connected to your router. It won't work with any other Netgear product. This limitation is not described on the product packaging, the Netgear website, or the Amazon website - I only found out by making a tech support call. The product itself is otherwise fine.

Just about all you could ask for
This is an excellent system providing all the capability you could ask for in a small-office-home-office wireless network access device. It has a utility that runs over standard HTTP, so you can access all the administration and management services via your browser. It contains all the capabilities required to generate 64- and 128-bit WEP keys from pass-phrases and you can lock down your wireless application so that only certain known devices can access it wirelessly (i.e....

Increasing Wireless Range
I own a Netgear DG834G and wanted to increase the wireless range. Tried a few different antennas, however signal strength did not increase by much, if at all and still had very poor reception at opposite end of the house to router.I found the best way to increase wireless range and strength has been to invest in a wireless bridge or repeater. (However you need two WG602 Access Points to make this work - See below) This means you can have your router/modem connected to one wireless access ...

Compatibility with WG602 (v2)
Having already bought three WG602 (v2), I opted to buy a fourth with the intention of increasing coverage and signal strength. The item arrived promptly with Amazon's free delivery and at a better price than anyone else. Thanks Amazon!A few notes.. Aesthetically the v2 and v3 are almost the same - but not quite: the v3 is white (not silver) and has NO mounting holes (despite what the September 2004 installation guide says). It does however come with two supports to allow the unit to sit as a ...

Good - but range somewhat limited.
The WG602 is very easy to set up and provides good wireless security, including the facility to limit access to specific MAC addresses and/or use WEP security. To anyone examining the Netgear range one might expect the WG602 to be the same as the wireless part of the EXCELLENT (5*) DG834G ADSL Firewall Router. However when running the two side by side, using the very latest firmware upgrades, and linking from a Netgear MA521 card in a Notebook it is clear that:(a) The WG602 range, whilst ad...

Very quick installation, very happy
Well Netgear have been very good to me! I had a DG834 which has worked excellently well, I purchased a second PC fr the family to use and thought I'd try wireless connection! Went PC world heard all the speil from the sales man and went home done some more research on the net and decided to stay with Netgear and get WG602 access point and WG111 2.0 USB adapter. Little bit tricky at first to set up, but with a little patients managed to get it up and running within an hour! Kids are happy, I'm ha...

Superb wireless network speeds
I have used a NETGEAR ME102 11mb wireless access point in the past and found the range and speeds very good. With this newer 54mb version I have found not only the range better but the speeds on my three PC's are superb. The set up is really simple and the documentation easy to understand. I am using this with unit withe 2 WG511 PCMCIA Cards and a WG311 PCI Card which are recongnized by the access point instantly.

WG602V3
This unit has a hardware fault that turns the unit into non-operational mode randomly. I would out your money elsewhere

Fast, Faster and Fastest...!
I've used a Netgear DG834Gv2 Wirless Router for a couple of years and its been brilliant apart from its range but that is down to the old three storey Victorian brickwork it has to fight its way though! I have a ceiling pad aerial which has helped but we had dead spots all over the place. We use wireless extensively for Laptops, Handhelds and Skype VOIP phones. So we got two Netgear XE102 Ethernet Power Line bridges and a strategically placed Netgear WG602 Access point. The XE102s to...
