Minefield
I've had this router for about 6-7 years and would not recommend it to anyone in the dark about such things. I'm no slouch to computers, but I couldn't get this set up for the life of me. I had to wait until something unrelated went wrong with my computer (I was still on a wired router) for an engineer to come fix it and at the same time set this router up for me at my request. The enclosed leaflets are useless and confusing. The Netgear website isn't much better. After it was set-up, it worked

bought to upgrade netgear 54bps.not seen any noticable change in speed,none at all.the only difference so far is that this model has no on/off switch at the back,so always on or unplugged.netgear setup sounds really easy,but when you actually go through the setup its tedious and seems to either work easily or not at all.tweak some settings that you need to look up on the internet to even know what they are and suddenly it works.then setting wep etc is again on paper dead simple,try doing it and

Good now the firmware has been updated
I got one of these second hand off eBay, only to find it was a locked, ex-Sky model (negative feedback to the seller for not describing properly or responding to messages), but managed to flash it to the Netgear firmware without ruining it. It has had no problems at all connecting and staying connected to the internet and the wireless works fine, but I was getting very frustrated with the way it often failed to assign an IP address to computers running XP, requiring a restart of the modem to

yea the product is ok
i needed to get up and running quickly so bought this as a replacement for my dead router, and it works straight out of the packaging, a few minutes to set up, easy peasy so cant complain really.
