Good piece of kit, does what it says on the box.
Set up couldn't be simpler. Got the router out of the box and connected to ADSL, configured with ISP supplied settings, worked first time. Bonus is that the wireless card (PCMCIA)is bundled free, as a offer on Amazon at the time of ordering. Again the wireless card worked first time, a connection speed of 54Mbs is possible, but expext 11Mbs in reality. This is with the router upstairs and the laptop downstairs in the opposite corner of the house. Also ordered a PCI card, for sons PC, ag...

Excellent Product
I've bought two of these now and installed them for other people. I had no prior experience but they both worked just fine straight out of the box and I had no problem setting up the essential security (limiting the computers that could talk to it via their MAC addresses and setting up 128 bit WEP encryption).

Reliable, Pretty, Awesome!
This has been one of my best IT buys over the last few months. I got the free delivery option which does take quite a while but it's to be expected for being free! The router came very well packaged and the first thing I did when I took the router out was stare in awe and both the size and how attractive it was. It is the size of my hand and looks so awesome (looks very "Apple Mac")... The best part to come still... I plugged in power cable, put on clips so it stands upright next to my fisht...

An Essential ADSL Accessory
The Netgear is a great item. Being a so called IT Professional I find some network equipment a pain to set up, so for home I wanted a router that was simple & easy to implement. The netgear delivers this in spades. The HTML interface was easy to access, clicking the 'wizard' took 1 minute & that was the LAN ports configured & running. 10 minutes saw the wireless Network running & most of that was microsoft issues. Easily implementable security & a strong default firewall setting mean that it's e...

Netgear DG834G (Mac Os X 10.4 Tiger Compatible !)
After using a speed touch usb modem, I can see an increase in speed, I now have a permanent connection and it works well with the Macs new Tiger operating system. I am now going to add a buffalo G54 pmcia card to my Lombard Powerbook G3 with Panther to surf the web from around the house. At the moment I can plug in an ethernet cable to my laptop and surf from the livingroom. It recognises it straight away when turning on Safari as long as tcip settings are correct, now the kids can use the iMac...

I had a non wireless router for 3 months working from home, and wanted to be able to work form other rooms in the house and in the garden. (The router is in the front upstairs room, I am in the back garden...

Perfect For AOL Users
Now, I've always been worried about the thought of setting up a wireless router and network. In fact, I've always been doubly worried as I have the added disadvantage of being an AOL Broadband user. However, I needn't have worried. Setting up the Netgear in conjunction with the software downloaded from the AOL site was a breeze. I was honestly up and running in under ten minutes. One minor grouch (with AOL, not with the router itself) was that AOL didn't state anywhere h...

Does exactly what is says on the tin!
As a Mac OS X User I bought this with a little trepidation. The Airport Express would have the obvious route, as I new the integration of that would have been seemless. However why should I have to pay extra for a DSL Modem? That's when I found this little beauty. I had my broadband activated yesterday. So...here we go, turn on the iBook, turn on the router. Make sure the Airport Extreme card is on, connect to the web client, put in the account name and password.......I'm on! It must have ta...

Does what says on the tin
We were fed up with 'connection sharing' from the main PC for the laptop connection, so this seemed a great solution. And it is! The box promised a 10 minute install. And it was! If only all IT was this good. Exemplary. Buy one. For the programmers amongst us, the firmware is GPL'd and freely available from netgear, which heightens my confidence. Haven't you bought one yet?
