Rangemax - Purchase a beauty
I brought the rangemax wireless router to use BT Broadband with 2 home computers and a laptop. The range and speed is almost always around 54mps and an excellent signal quality. I have sat at the end of our 200ft garden and can still get a good signal. The setup was easy enough just put in the CD and your off. One word of warning though this product needs an external Ethernet Modem not USB as supplied with most broadband providers.

Netgear Router WPN824
Excelent piece of hardware!I was a little worried that the signal would not be stong enough to go through two floors, and numerous walls, to be recieved at the bottom of the house by my laptop, however signal is good/very good 90% of the time which is far better than I expected.I needed a little help setting up, and sorting password security, but technical support were excelent, and all was sorted in a matter of minutes. Therefore if you need a router with good signal strength, ...

Perfect!
I upgraded the WPN824, from the WGR614v6 as my home network was rapidly growing. It is far better than standard G, well done with the delivery Amazon! You won't be dissapointed, it even comes with Trend Micro security built into the router. Installing and replacing my old router was easy, it took 5 minutes even with advanced settings (WPA-PSK), ssid, mac list, lan ip reservation etc... I even managed to set it up with my other router in conjunction. If you need an upgrade from your old router t...

Ignore the FRUSTRATED review below
This to alert non-techie users to the bad information given in the review posted on 4 January 2006 entitled "Frustrated - Not Half". It is not Netgear's fault that the wrong router was purchased by the previous reviewer. This router is designed to work with cable broadband suppliers (such as NTL & Telewest) and therefore will not support PPPoA as they don't use that protocol. However if you want PPPoA to use with a BT phone line, you need the Netgear model DG834PN - the ADSL Modem ...

Very Good Product But Can't Seem To Get 108Mbps Mode Working
I purchased this router to replace my old Netgear WGR614 router. I received the router 4 days after ordering and arrived in excellent condition. As I know all about networks and how routers work, it took me about 5-10 minutes to replace the old with the new and I was able to connect to the internet (my internet being AOL Broadband) on the first attempt! My computer, laptop and XBOX 360 (which now connects to every game I choose) all have no problems with it at all and I can receive an...

Quick Set Up
An excellent piece of kit! Set up my home PCs (all using XP SP2) to access my (Telewest) Broadband Cable system wirelessly in under 1 hour. Excellent speeds at all times, and in all places throughout the house. Wizards work well, and no need to call Netgear, as everything ran "out of the box".There is a firmware update available for the router. If you are using the wizard and following the instructions, then you will be promped to download and install this. After installation, speeds ar...

Finally Improved Range!
This router is absolutely amazing! The range has improved tremendously and I can finally get a strong signal in almost any room I go. The house has got relatively thick walls so my old Netgear DG824M had a lot of difficulty getting the signal through, but this one gives me a 108 mpbs almost all over the house. In the garden i get nothing less than 54 mbps. The Rangemax laptop card and USB adapter are defintely recommended for the router to give best results! I gave it 4 stars mainly because sett...

it wont last more than half an hour!!
Good points: relatively easy to install, has a blue flashing light so you can find it in the dark, has a well populated user forum on netgears own site.Bad points: it wont hold a wireless net connection for more than half an hour, it has no support that will enable it to work, the forum is full of people who can confirm that this item is rubbish. Two words of advice - DON'T BUY IT!!!

Frustrated - not half!
I usually buy Netgear stuff and have always found it pretty good. However after purchasing this for a friend who needed the extra range it offered, I have now sent it back. The router will only offer PPoE and BT (along with a host of other UK based ISPs) only offer PPPoA. Therefore it didnt work. I understand you can set it up as a WAP, but obviously I wasn't about to shell out more cash. THe short version - dont buy this if you are on BT Broadband.

Don't waste your money
bought the WPN 824 wireless router and two WRN 111 wireless USB adaptors to network two computers and a third computer connected using CAT5 cable to the router. All computers run XP SP2. I could not get the step-up wizard to work so I contacted Netgear support. The support was good and enabled me to get all computers to use the broadband modem. However, I cannot get the wireless connected computers to see any of the other computers. When I tried using the Netgear network setup utility it referre...
