A seriously good choice
Having considered with an open mind MP3 players such as the Apple i-Pod, Creative Jukebox and SONY walkman (as well as some practically unknown brands that appealed on the price front...) I have to say that this MP3 player does it all. I've now owned this 6GB version for quite some time and I'm yet to encounter a problem. You don't have to use any manufacturer software like i-tunes or the SONY manager, you just synchronise via Windows Media Player (version 10 supported - version 11 su...

A real mix of good and bad
After about 3 months of use I am still not sure if this lives up to its potentialPLUS POINTS - sound quality - it is very good - even better with Sennheiser's. This is the main reason for purchase. - design ethic - it looks good and the controls light up as you use them ! nice touch - navigation through songs - its easy enough, intuitive - capacity - for me 6GB is loads. I dont need my whole album collection available, just a good mix of what I am currently...

Phillips HDD1620
This is a fantastic MP3 player. If you are looking for an alternative to the ipod nano this is brilliant. It has a very sturdy shell, you can save pictures on to it as well as music the volume at its highest is very loud, much higher than Sony in my opinion. Compared to the new Sony NWA1000 this one definitely looks better. My one complaint is when using WMA some tracks don't rip and the file size comes up as 6KB which essentially means it hasn't ripped to the library, but, you can ...

Essentally good but with some irritations
I had read many reviews on this player and had noted that there were some gripes but I decided to go ahead and buy the player. I have had it for a week so far but feel that I am able to base my thoughts on it now.For the past week I have been fiddling with the player to get it to sound just right and have now found the sound that I like. Getting music on the player is easy enough, although I have istalling problems on my pc which means I have to use someone else's machine to transfer my ...

I am very very pleased with my HDD1620!
I spent ages making sure I bought the right MP3 player and I really believe I found it. Basically I wanted a fairly large capacity MP3 player(I would have bought the 20GB HDD6320 but couldn't afford it) which worked with Windows Media Player because I had already put all my music in it.The HDD1620 is great! It's excellent value for money at ?150max for 6GB. If you rip all your CDs in the lowest quality WMA format (you really can't notice the difference) you can get loads of music on ...

Philips HDD1620 decent, support sucks
I got this player in december last year. It worked for a couple of weeks. Then it stopped. No warning or anything, just stopped. One minute it was working fine, the next it showed no signs of life.As if this wasn't bad enough the support Philips offers is dismal. Its been FOUR months since I sent the player to a service centre (following instructions I got from Philips' helpline) and I haven't seen it since. I've tried to track it down but it appears they've lost it.

Beware of First Impressions
I bought this mp3 player less than a month ago and I am already having to pay to get the screen repaired. The mp3 is very impressive looking and has some very nice features. Aside from the fact that it gets fingerprint marks all over the place and the protective case is useless any future buyer please be very wary as the mp3 is much more delicate than you would expect.I have had trouble with it freezing several times and only switchin g off by itself hours later or when the battery...

It's fine
I bought one of these about two months ago and am very satisfied with it. I simply can't understand the comments about finger prints etc. I agree that the rubber 'case' provided with the unit isn't particularly good, but I bought a [...] leather case designed for the Nano [...]and it works very well with this, with the screen and controls both protected by transparent plastic. It also works well with my laptop - I have the folders on the machine bookmarked in a file manager prog I use and it'...
