My SA3245 experience
I bought the about a month ago and like one of your reviewers, had problems getting the computer to recognise it. Not quite so bad as you may think!
I am 63 with no sense of how to work the new Philips MP3/MP4 player and would agree with your previous reviewer ... that is until I did a bit of investigation so that I could try and download my music library in iTunes. I cannot and you cannot! This is somewhat disappointing as I had built up quite a good library. You can only add iTune libraries to MP3 players and not MP4 players. Be warned before you buy! Neat little player
I've used my Philips GoGear SA3245 on a daily basis since I got it a couple of months ago. It's a lovely piece of kit and I've had no problems with it at all. It plays MP3s and videos effortlessly and the radio is a real boon. The screen is small, but I'm able to view family pictures easily and it has great storage capacity. I regularly download radio podcasts and listen again on my way to work. It's handy to be able to use it as a sound recorder too. Battery life is excellent.It's great...

Worthless and misleading
Do noy buy this product under any circumstances. I got it on the 25th of June and within the same day it stopped working. The screen just went black and now it refuses to work. The software provided with the "mp3" player discovers an error but fails to fix it. Since I am in the north of the UK their are no service centres nearby according to the philips site. Also the description is misleading as it does not play MP4 but you have to convert to another format that philips has. Don't buy it.

Fantastic!
I bought one of these and all I can say is it's brilliant! I had no problems getting my computer to recognise it (XP) I've put a few albums on it and have over half of the memory left. I also put a couple of videos on it, obviously they're not great quality, but good enough for an mp3 player. All in all I think it's great value for money and a definate must have!

Excellent Quality
If you are looking for an alternative to apple this is the real deal. Only thing I'd say is it crashes occassionally and can be fixed with a firmware update, this is my 3rd gogear player I've bought and I've always upgraded and run my players hard and I still have the other 2 working after 2 years hard pressed listening

Bad Choice
if you're looking to buy something cheap just so you can have portable music, it's an alright player. it's really small, for one thing. but it's really flawed. it's only got one playlist on-the-go and you can't save it. if you don't listen to it for a while it disappears. you can't drag playlists off your computer. it'll just transfer as random songs. and after a month, it got messed up and now no computer can read it so i'm stuck with the songs that on there. and it takes ages to come on cos wh...

Very Good
This is a very good MP3 player, the battery life is great if you don't use it for videos much and it stores a lot of music. It can also be left unlocked in your pocket whilst playing music without accidentally skipping what you're listening to. The set up is also very simple and it is easy to transfer music. The only small issue is that the headphone cable is strangely springy, so I have switched to other headphones.

From great to regret
I have had this player for about 4 months and initially i was very impressed,sound quality is good,ripping was easy and build quality excellent.But then little things started to go wrong,freezing screens,saved music playing mid track and the inability to just charge only.The player wanted to go fully on when charging and seemed to have forgotten it's sleep mode.I then took advise and repaired using the supplied utility and things were fine,but only briefly.Again its frozen but now unrecoverable,...
