Not enough bass!
Having invested in my first ipod and with my CD player being bust I thought I'd go for the Philips iPod docking entertainment system.It's cool that there is a radio and that it is compatible with the iPod Nano. However, the sound quality is not great!-other than the DBB and volume there isn't anything to adjust sound. The DBB button just makes everything sound tinny. Not enough bass for my liking. Am missing remote control and I'd worry that the iPod docking point could get dusty too. Look...

Philips Ipod Docking System is excellent
Bought this for my son for Christmas, and it has been a great success. It means that he can charge his ipod, and also listen to the music with his friends. Very reasonable price too.

great,worth the money
just bought this item today and it's great, i can now bug my whole family with my music:):) The sound quility is very good and can go to a very loud volume(only need it turned a quarter of the way up and it completely fills my bedroom with music) cd's work fine in it, the radio seems good too and the best part is the ipod dock. Will not charge new iPod Touch
I purchased this iPod Docking Entertainment System for our kitchen/dining room mainly to listen to CDs and the radio, but with the added extra of my sons being able to play their iPod music and charge their iPods. However, do not expect this iPod Docking Entertainment System to be able to charge a new iPod Touch! I contacted Philips and they confirmed that it cannot charge the new iPod Touch, they can only be charged via USB. This is quite annoying and should be on the product spec!

Too much to ask for?
All I want is a portable stereo system styled as a 'gettoblaster' from the 80's with decent sound quality. Looks aren't everything !
Bought this iPod Docking system for use in the kitchen - and for that purpose it's fine. The sound is good, the instructions clear and it's easy to use, and we can play our iPod and CD's. The only negative point I'd make is that it's rather cheap and plastic looking, which at this price is to be expected.

Great value
A lot of people have been complaining about the quality of this product but it's cheap and it works and it works well. The simple construction doesn't feel cheap and nasty. It feels like it will last for a few years (even with my toddler changing the CD and fiddling with the buttons). For the money, it's difficult to find something that beats the features and flexibility.

Cheap and cheerful
A useful pod doc - great for the summer - but not really hi-fi.Radio is great but the CD player doesn't play mp3 CDs which is disppointing. Buy if you want something 'disposable' for a year that you can knock around indoors or out. When you upgrade your pod - you'll probably have throw it out - which is why all of these £200 Bose type units have such limited appeal and this is probably pitched just right.Good - but could have been better in terms of sound volu...

Good features, thin sound
This item looks good, has radio, cd player, and an ipod dock - so far so good.In spite of the bass boost, the sound is tinny - like that of aomething half the price.NB is also has an aux input, so you can connect a non-apple mp3 player to it.

Radio\cd player and ipod docking station
What can I say? It is all of the above in one item. Once I put batteries in, it was just what I was looking for to take camping. Great sound too. There are different ipod fittings too so goes with any ipod.
