I have found this to be an excellent product. You are able to access all menus in your ipod.You can adjust volume settings with the i-10 which will give you optimum volume with your connected audio equipment. You will have to purchase a 3.5mm to phono lead if your Hi-fi only has phono jacks, but they can be reasonably priced. After buying a new ipod classic 120 at christmas i decided to buy the Arcam idock to connected it to my amplifier. I soon realised the Arcam product will not charge the new classic ipod and therefore looked for a different product.What a relief i did.For "£100" less you can get the PURE i-10 with great sound( dont know if it's better than the Arcam). I use this with an iPod Classic. I bought this as a compromise after getting a 120gb Ipod Classic for Xmas. As the intention was to connect my Ipod to my hi-fi I wanted the Denon Docking Station but the retailer did not have one in stock but recommended the Pure version as not only superior but less than half the price. Does what is says, but all 3 of ours broke within 18 months.They feel nice and solid - BUT THIS IS ONLY BECAUSE PURE HAVE STUCK 2 BIG CHUNKS OF METAL IN THE BASE! Take the metal weights out and the base feels cheeper and flimsier than the remote.Good points:It works with new iPod nano 4th gen, iPhone 4G. I bought this after much research in an attempt to find an iPod dock that allows full remote control functions (unlike the apple one). I am extremely impressed with all aspects of this dock. This is a great little dock. It looks quite classy, has an excellent fully-functional remote, and it sounds great through my separates hi-fi system. I simply cannot fathom the very bad review that this thing gets from What Hi-Fi - the lacklustre sound they report simply does not tally with my own experience.
