A great camera
I bought this camera even after reading one of the reviews which stated you needed to reset all the data each time you changed batteries. I bought a spare battery and found the comment was simply not true! The camera is superb, takes great photos and videos which are easily transferred to a PC and when you change batteries NOTHING needs resetting.I have 5 small grandchildren so a tough, waterproof camera fits my needs perfectly and this is exactly what I wanted. Great Value, Feature-Rich Product
I was looking for a camera for a recent trip home, where trips to the beach, swims in the river and much general trekking about were expected. Because of this I was looking for something small enough to carry almost anywhere that was also waterproof and could shoot HD. Shaky jerky pictures
I bought this camera for it's underwater capabilities but wish i hadn't. The underwater feature is of course a bonus but the videos from the camera are awful. At anything other than the sloooooowest of pans the image is so jerky it's unwatchable. There is no HDMI out so you have use the shoddy av cable to connect the camera to your tv. This is surely unforgiveable when wanting to watch your hd movies on your hd tv!!I tried to burn the files to dvd after transferring to my pc and whichever codec ...

Screen Fails - Common Problem
I bought one of these. After 16 months the screen failed - seems to be a common problem, due to a faulty design in the swivel connection to the unit. Sanyo were uninterested, probably due to how widespread the problem is. I strongly recommend you avoid this product unless you regard it as a throw away item.

I was seduced by the cool form factor and the waterproof capability of this camera and hoped it would be my long sought-after companion on skiing and snorkeling trips. However, after testing it I am wandering what is the target customer for this camera? It is especially BAD at rendering motion - the picture is so jerky that it is practically unusable. Great camera for a summer trip
I bought the Xacti CA9 for my summer trip to Greece. It was definitely a great buy, as I managed to take the camera everywhere I went and capture hundreds of excellent images (both HD video and 9mp stills). The stills are very good and so is the video footage, even underwater. Very fun item to have and it produces great material. I'm thoroughly happy with it and recommend it to anyone with an active lifestyle.

Crap camcorder; beautiful looks, but shallow results
I bought this camcorder based on its looks, great option of colors and because it was a HD plus waterproof.It lasted only 2 months and it was already broken with no apparent reason. Since it was still within the warranty I sent it to the shop and they took 6 months to replace it for a same model. 5 months later and first time underwater, it fogged and stopped working again. I wished I had read a similar review before buying a Sanyo, because for me it's a brand I'll nevermore buy.

Monitor faults
Don't buy one,I am on my second unit and this now has to go back to Sanyo for the same fault,the monitor failsHave a look at the forums they are littered with people with the same fault.Sanyo don't seem bothered about it,so be carefull.
