When this arrived it was very easy to install and use, also there is plenty of storage room on it to hold all your important files and music etc. which is good if you have a few people using the same computer. It is not too bulky so easy to take with you if need be.

Security at an affordable price
 
Aware that if my PC hard drive failed I would lose years of tax records and insurance policies as well as family photos and correspondence, I needed a backup.The Seagate 500 was big enough, and a reasonable price. More importantly, given that I am technically ignorant, it was easy to install and contained its own software. And it needed no independent power supply (other devices are already attached to PC - printer, scanner). It also has a small footprint and is unobtrusiveMy wife

Seagate 500GB Expansion Portable USB 2.0 Hard Drive
 
Perfect, just an everyday hard drive. Reliable, smaller than i thought, nearly half size of the 750 GB model. Transfer speeds as expected, long enough USB 2.0 cable. Never failed (Ensure you install the Seagate driver that is included on the HD). Cheers.

Good Enough
 
This item is very fussy about the USB port it uses - it refused to work on the connections on the front of my computer, but eventually got it to work happily on a connection at the back. Presumably it demands a USB connection of high quality - fully functional and very high-speed 2.0 !!!
