Just works
Initially bought the WDTV Live, but it did not work with my NAS and would not play some media files. The Seagate GoFlex TV just works. The only slight issue was that the WLAN adapter is not sold in the UK. This was easily solved as Seagate sent me information regarding which adapters had been tested by users. Great media player, but shame GoFlex 1TB ultra-portable drive does not fit in the slot
Despite initial disappointment (see my original review below), this is now my favourite gadget and wherever I go I now happily set up the media player and connect a couple of external USB hard drives to give me an instant movie library on the go. Navigating the media library is like selecting from a file system - no consumer polish there - but it's not a great bother. After an amazingly fast delivery from Amazon, I slowly unboxed the Seagate GoFlex TV 1080P Media Player and also the Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 500 GB USB 2.0 Ultra-portable External Hard Drive for extra storage space. Segate Go Flex TV
This item is advertised as having a wifi adapter to connect wirelessly to a home network. This is not true as Segate do not supply a wifi adapter and will not recommend one that works with this unit!!.Totalling useless unless you have an CAT5e Ethernet connection available.Customer support experience ain't great either!!

Very Disappointing
I bought this with the understanding that aside from it playing media files through your TV and giving access to YouTube etc it could be used to:* Stream video, music and photos over the network to computers, tablets, XBox 360 etc.* Allow copy to and from the hard drives attached to it via the network to avoid having to keep unplugging them.To cut a long story short, it doesn't. Crappy UI
The box itself is great, small, nice looking, it can play virtually anything. The problem is with the UI. Having been spoilt by the XBOX MediaCenter I must say that Seagate UI designers didn't do good job here. Such obvious task like setting a link or shortcut to a folder shared over network is impossible. You can only create shortcut to your PC or NAS but then you have to navigate through the folder structure over and over each time you connect to it.Hope they will improve this in future fir...

Coolest little thing
Bought this unit on monday morning and recieved it the next day!setting it up was a bit of a pain but once i set up shared folders etc i was awaaaaay!!! not set it up over wireless yet but over LAN i've been more than impressed, plays all the files my other media players wouldnt it's a neat little boxseems too good to be true....one thing i'd say go on the forums on seagates website if you are having issues with login, seems like a few other people had the same issue i had but ...

Plays any file you have !
I looked all over for a good media player and at last I have one . I was using an Iomega but some reason it would not play may of my video files, This unit however will play anything i can throw at it , very happy indeed i have it hooked up to all my external storage as well as my NAS all work very fast can not recommend this little enough
