Easy close ups!
Ok let's get this clear, I'm no photography expert, but I enjoy dawdling about taking pictures of wildlife sitting in my back garden. A lot of reach for those on a budget
I purchased this lens at the same time as my Sony a33 with 18-55mm kit (see review seperately). I wanted a lens that would capture pictures of friends windsurfing some way offshore, but I did not want to spend megabucks. I have a 70-210 Minolta lens which I hoped would do the job, since the 35mm equivalent works out at 105-315mm (apply the 1.5X magnification factor) but it did not get quite close enough. An excellent piece of kit, does exactly what you'd hope for!
Purchased for our a350 for a safari, and I'd recommend for anyone needing a decent zoom lens. It's fast and top quality, the pictures are just brilliant.

This is my first lens for my first DSLR and I wanted a lens that I could use for birwatching/ nature photos. Good lens for the price
If on a budget this is a must have lens for your dslr. It will pretty much set you up for any shot due to its 70-300mm (105-450mm 35mm equivalent)but obviously if you can stretch your budget, do so. I had this lens some years ago, had to sell to pay for something else. and im looking at buying a new one again, its that good. to sum up for a smidge over £100 its a great lens

Complements the system perfectly
I purchased this to complement the Sony Alpha kit I bought previously. I browsed the internet to find an equivalent lens but could not match the quality and price so I bought this one and I am not disappointed with the results. a great bargain
The Sony 75-300mm is designed to complement the standard 18-70mm kit lens, greatly extending the range without any overlap. Indeed since the 5mm difference between them is negligible, the pair offer a huge range from 18-300mm, delivering a 35mm-equivalent field of 27-450mm. The telephoto range of the 75-300mm is ideal for portraits, wildlife and sporting events, along with bringing-in any kind of distant detail.Recommended. :-)

good value for money,good photos
bought this lens as the lens supplied with the camera doesnt have adequate zoom power. The 75-300 lens though is just perfect. Having said that te only drawback is having to change lenses often(need to change to 18-70 lens for people shots and 75-300 for nature shots. Wish sony had a 18-300 lens supplied along with the camera.That would have been perfect. A thumbs up for this product

Good Value lens but has limitations
This is a very good value for money lens! I do recomend it As I have it in My Sony Alpha 100 and its given me good service. The only slight gripe I have is that it's not that good for taking pictures at close range because the view field is a bit narrow. Apart form that... very good lens at a very good price.
