Fantastic Picture
Standard definition TV looks good, and Blue ray via PS3 is superb.Only thing I didn't like is the sound quality but then most people who get this type of TV probably have it hooked up to a home cinema or hi-fi system. I bought this to replace a year-old Samsung 40inch LM87 which itself was a very good TV. Amazing with HD, ok with Digital TV
I bought this TV to replace a 5 year old Sony 28" CRT telly. As with the other reviewer I bought a Sony Blu-Ray player at the same time. The picture with an HD source is absolutely amazing. Pin sharp and almost 3D-like it's so detailed. The picture with Freeview on the other hand, needs a little fiddling with to get it right. I've experienced a few HDTVs from Panasonics Viera range so I had high expectations from this Sony Bravia.There is one very annoying quirk I've found with this TV:When using the HDMI input to watch programs (e.g. via Sky HD) that are old-style 4:3 broadcasts you cannot resize the image to the correct 4:3 aspect ratio, resulting in the really annoying "fat head" distortion. I also purchased this TV to replace a 28" CRT and agree entirely with a previous reviewer that the best picture quality can be achieved by turning off most of the so called advanced features.As the set has 3 HDMI, 2 SCART and a component input I wired everything directly to the TV and connected my 5.1 sound system to the optical audio output of the TV. Best LCD Hi Def TV on the market
Just bought this tv (not from Amazon), and having set it up straight from the box, all I can say is WOW! What a picture, Brilliant! It was so simple to set up. Just plug it in. Follow the on screen questions and it basically set itself up. I won't try and make any adjustments for a couple of days, just to let the set settle in. I will then tweak the picture settings to get the absolute best out of the TV. At present I am using a Sky+ box, so it is only in standard definition for the moment...

First off, wow, 40 inches is a great size...If i had gone to 46" i wouldn't have been able to get it onto my desk. After putting the stand on the tv which takes around 3 min, you plug it in and you have to turn it on with the power button ontop of the tv (took a while to figure that one out). Straight out of the box and into its stand and within seconds stunning TV quality!I was a little apprehensive stageing from a Panasonic 32 inch CRT to this set, but I need not have worried.
