EX503U
I bought this LCD screen a couple of weeks ago now and I can tell you that it is excellent. Believe the reviews you have read! I mainly use my LCDs for Blu-Ray and XBox 360. I was slightly concerned by one review which mentioned something like 60ms of 'input lag' when playing games...this nearly made me cancel my order as I do a lot of gaming! However, I took the risk and I am very pleased to report that this TV will meet all you demands and probably more...Input lag, what input lag??? There...

Excellent picture and sound but why not fully Wi-Fi ready?
I bought this TV a few days ago and so far have been very pleased with it. The stand was easy to assemble and the TV itself very easy to set up - just follow the on-screen commands, and it is ready within 5 minutes or so. The Freeview HD signal, which is available in my area, tuned in perfectly - and the picture is noticeably better than the standard freeview signal. Shame there aren't a few more freeview HD channels yet but, of course, that isn't Sony's problem.Overall the picture quality...

Fantastic TV, crisp colours and excellent all round
I got this TV to replace a 6 year old Samsung 32" for the main TV. I was going for another Samsung, but the new ones appear to only have 1 scart. This is great if you only have 1 item that needs scart, but I have my Sky+ and a DVD/HD recorder, so reluctantly, had to discard the idea of Samsung. After much deliberation between plasma and lcd, I finally stayed with lcd, as the power consumption was better and the clarity seems to be similar. As I also did not want to keep upgrading, I thought...

Very Pleased
After much deliberation decided to go for 40ex503, very pleased with my choice. Picture is excellent and the settings to tweak are abundant. In built HD freview and guide is very good. I'll keep the review short so to conclude you won't be disappointed with this set. A couple of notes, this tv doesn't have widgets as described on some sites specifications, bravia on line is good but many of the sites you can access aren't updated regularly. 5 on demand is a good example, the program content...

Great TV
When you get it set up right, it's a great TV. That said, thereare a few points worth making even if they are not faults in the product.Firstly, if you are going from a 4:3 CRT to this product, make sure you set all your input devices (e.g. freeview box, VCR, DVD, BluRay, etc) to output to widescreen or 16:9 because otherwise Smart mode will do its best with a 4:3 picture, but you will get tons of nasty stretch effects.Secondly, because its a big TV you tend to be more conscious of m...

Well Worth It
After alot of deliberation and research I opted to buy the Sony Bravia KDL40EX503U. Some of the negative reviews did worry me, but thankfully I bit the bullet and ordered it from Amazon. I'm totally in love with it. It was easy to set up and tune in. I was worried about the picture I would get, but I can't fault it at all, both analogue and digital pictures are clear. The sound is crisp and clear. Do yourself a favour and buy it!

Great TV
Originally bought an ex703, but it suffered from the cones at the top of the screen so returned it (didn't buy it from amazon), was toying with the idea of a Panasonic g20 plasma instead, but in the ended decided to go with the Sony ex503. Very glad I did so, the picture quality is superb, far better than the ex703, Freeview HD is outstanding, very sharp, great colours, great blacks and very good depth to the picture. Freeview SD is not as good as standard Sky SD, which I've got to say is very g...

Perfect once you know how
This is one great TV - I agree with all the other comments, great picture, no motion smearing, no backlight issues. HOWEVER, there is a flaw in the set up. I plugged TV into power and ariel, ran standard set up and......nothing. Failed to detect any TV programmes. Not a single one. Re-ran set up, same result. Plugged ariel into small portable, picture. I therefore dived into the menu system, altered the programme search from quick to full, waited for 30 mins (yes, half an hour) while this...

Excellent
Very pleased, excellent picture.Sky Sports HD is awesome.A little slow changing channels, not sure how much I value/will use the internet connection, maybe if more "normal" content available it will be a better feature. No regrets at all

Sony KDLEX503U
Excellent TV for an excellent price. Freeview HD is superb as is my SKY HD. Internet TV is also excellent, just need a Blu-Ray player to go with it now. No wonder this won best 40" buy in What Hi-Fi magazine. (It's 46" and 37" siblings won in their class too).
