Portable, yes, but convenient, no.
This CD player is certainly portable, but not very convenient because there is no belt clip or means of attachment to clothing. In other words, you can be stationery with it on a surface near you or moving provided you hold it!Unfortunately, this deficiency cannot be seen without cutting open the firm plastic packaging, which then voids the conditions for return to Amazon.The sound quality is satisfactory but the "mega bass" does not do much for my hearing.

Misleading advert
I ordered via Amazon.UK a Sony walkman CD player that reads CDs recorded in MP3 format. It is for my 94 year old mother to listen to archaeological and other reports that I get as podcasts.It arrived within 2 days from kkelectronics and works perfectly. We are very happy with it, especially the fact that once stopped, it resumes where it was stopped, very useful when there are a hundred or so MP3 tracks, or 30 or so hours recorded. Sony CD Player
I bought this for my partner for Christmas, he is 71 and it was something he had wanted for a long time, and was thrilled to bits with it. The sound is so clear when playing CD's and the radio is very easy to use, this too is a very clear sound and easy to listen to. I would recommend this item to people of all ages.

Just what I needed
This does everything I could have wanted it to. I have to admit I seldom use the radio, or use MP3 CDs but the fact that I can is a bonus. As with pretty much most products like this, I would always prefer to use my own, better, headphones, but in terms of the unit itself I'm very happy.

Perfectly working system - just a little bit noisy for cd playing
I bought the system on amazon.uk as far as I can't find the product in France. It is very robust, good working, beautiful sound, very nice radio on FM, very easy to use, economical with the batteries. Two criticisms : The cd player is a bit noisy... the CD text does not work on traditionnal CDs (but ok on MP3). I think I would buy another one, if necessary. I have had other CD players from other manufacturers, really not so good...

Third time lucky?
I bought my first Sony D-NF340 MP3 in August 2007. It worked well until November 2008 (when just out of guarantee). I ordered another one that month - this, too, has now proved faulty (March 2009). The cd playing mode is certainly slightly noisy, but the radio is excellent and I use a charger and Sony MDR-EX7ISL headphones with superior sound - essential as I do not sleep well and listen a lot in bed. Quality bit of kit
what do i say about this system, its overall performance is brilliant with the added perk of built in radio, battery life is very good, goes loud, good bass levels..CD loading isnt loud, impressive little system really..Recommend the Sennheiser PX100's to go with this player, they make a perfect partnership..Cheers

Very good
I am very pleased with this product. It has a very clear sound, though it took me a while to understand how the controls work as the instruction leaflet is not very explicite. I was also disappointed to learn that it did not have a carrying case with it. Other than that it is a very good buy.
