Faulty item sent to me so can't say anything about product itself
 
As the Tom Tom posted to me by seller was faulty I can't really comment on this one as I have not used it however tom tom generally are quite usefull and would recomend to anyone who travels very often.

Avoid.Its fat and clumsy, mine came with outdated maps and failed to find 3 out of 4 post codes i entered.Pure junk.

Not bad, could be better
 
I have used TomTom maps in my pda for years, so it was natural for me to choose a TomTom SatNav. I prefer TomTom maps and software to its rivals. I find it easy to use, clear to read and in my opinion the best currently available.However, this unit has a well known fault. Every so often the power button does not seem to work. Pressing the button has no effect. You need to press the reset button and then it will burst into life again. This is not a hardware fault, it is a software issue.

I had my 710 for around 18 months. It seemed to work fine for a few months. That was until I took it to Italy to help get me around when it refused to turn on part way through the trip. It was only when I got home that I learnt about the reset button that you have to push using a pin or paper clip. This kept happening when placing the unit on the screen mount (which should start the unit automatically). So I soon learnt to switch it on before placing it in the mount.It ran okay until a few
