A good monitor
 
I bought this monitor to replace a dead 19" CRT, and chose it simply by looking for the cheapeast flat-screen with a resolution no less than the old monitor's.Set-up in Windows is straightforward, but to use the wide-screen modes in Linux requires some fiddling about to tell Linux that yes, it does do 1680x1050 pixels.The manual is a PDF file on a CD-ROM - could be tricky to read it before installing the monitor.
