its ok...
yeah,thought this would have been a good hdd,but to me its only ok....with this hdd being a sata 3,it gave me the impression that it would be a faster drive,to me its only fast at opening surtain things.....installing things was still as slow as using a sata 2 drive...so i won't be buying another one of these.

For the size / price, seems to be the best option
Ummmed and ahhhhed for a while, finally settling on this drive (good size and price, least bad reviews).It was shipped next day and was extremely well-packaged.It took just 1 minute to install into by Synology DS110j NAS.Been using it for 24hrs now and seems great.If I needed another drive, I'd buy one of these again.

Western Digital Caviar Blue
I have purchased several of these drives in the past. They appear to have the lowest failure rates and are also the quietest drives on the Market. One Customer who had a boot problem (which turned out to be configuration related) thought the drive had failed because he could not hear it!Performance is good but if you need go for the Caviar Black which features 64MB of Cache abd a 5 Year warranty.

Works great
I built a system with this as my main hard drive and its fast and doesn't get too hot this is an excelent product and is worth the money.

Does what its required to do
Bought mainly as a backup storage for Windows and removable memory sticks and media it does the job. No instructions are provided with it for installation but there is a ton of information on the internet on how to format the HD and bring it into use for your OS. Regard it as cheap and functional purchase.

Reasonable backup/overflow drive
Had this in my PC a couple of months now. Got it to augment my 64GB SSD drive, which is remarkably quick but also quite small... the WD drive is quiet and reasonably fast, though SATA III means nothing in this case cos the drive is physically incapable of reading and writing data fast enough to max out SATA II (or probably even SATA I). It manages writes of about 100mb/sec.

Working perfectly
I use this as an extra hard drive to store all my music on my computer and it works perfectly. No problems to date.

Simple
I bought this because of it's price and was very happy with the quality of it once it arrived. It arrived on time. I would recommend purchasing this because it is of a high quality and is definitely worth the price.It arrived in a box within a box, and it was kept securely in place as to protect it. I installed it into my pc with ease, no troubles and all in all it was a good experience.

WD Blue 500GB
does exactly what it says on the tin.. works great.. at the minute ive got the drive in an external USB 3.0 drive enclosure for backups. tested the speed and its great !
