Caviar 320 For The Mac
I installed this hard drive into my 1.25GHz MDD G4 Powermac in about twenty minutes. No mounting screws came with it but fortunately the Mac still had the spare set of screws still on the carrier. Information regarding connection set-up are actually on a label securely fixed to the casing. As it was an add-on disk I set it to 'slave', connected the cables, clipped the carrier back into the main housing, closed the lid, and restarted the Mac. Excellent purchase
Really pleased with this purchase. I got it as an additional hard disk for my computer as a solution to running out of disk space on my primary one. It's very silent and works well. A friend who helped with the installation commented that it would have been helpful had the disk had a sticker on its front explaining what cables go where, but this could be obtained online anyway. Hope this is helpful.

noisy startup
installation is straightforward. after installation, and using windows xp, capacity is noted at 298gb!on every startup to date the drive is very noisy. this drops to an acceptable noise level after 10 - 20 seconds.

Just what I needed
I built a desktop 7 years ago, it was top spec but as you can imagine after that time the hard drive started to fail. This was a great replacement, it's been working superbly, very fast and responsive - I'd definitely recommend it.250GB is enough for me as I don't 'catalogue' video. Western Digital Hard Drive
Two of my PC desktop computers, about 7 years old, recently developed starting and freezing problems with their 80G hard drives. Bought as a second disk to store data as ran out of space on my main drive. Works fine, no issues/errors and seems fast enough. Happy with product!
